While I was working on my skills as a photographer, Christian was gracious enough to do numerous photo shoots with me. I think that we did a total of 5 different shoots throughout the time period of a year or so. He also let me test some video stuff on him and his music. He was a part of a rock band (that I forget the moment). We shot this image in his garage where he would rehearse his music. All of the props and the outfit in this scene are all his ideas and they’re representations of him, his heritage and his music. It’s also notable to say that the drum case near the bottom right hand of the image is the flag of Trinidad and Tobago, the country where his ancestors are from. It was around this time that the country’s soccer team qualified for the World Cup and I remember that he was always talking about how excited the country was about it.
