4 January 10
Ro Blvd. - January 4, 2006

I met Ro when I was doing some work for KDAY.  He was the producer for Chris Loos’ afternoon show at the time.  I found out that he was a producer and a very good one at that.  He hit me up about saying that he needed some photography for this project that he was working on and we scheduled a shoot.  His project was entitled “Coffee & Doughnuts”, hence the shoot in the doughnut shop.

The unique thing about this shoot is that we shot it on the day of the USC/Texas Rose Bowl.  In what perhaps was one of the greatest college football games of all time, I was working on this shoot.  And although I’m a huge football fan, I have no regrets about missing the game.  That’s when I realized that my interest in photography was higher than I had thought.

That youngster that’s peeking over the back of the bench is Ro’s little brother Miko by the way.  This is probably one of my favorite images that I’ve ever taken.
